Done WWOOFing!

I'm home again!

On our way home, my mom and I paused at a rest stop and walked across a pedestrian bridge over the highway. A passing truck driver honked and waved at us.

My favorite activities while I was at Possum Tail Farm were driving the tractor and bowling. (If you ever happen to visit Oakland, MD, pay a call at The Alley. Their pizzas and milkshakes are delicious.)

As the title suggests, Possum Tail Farm was my last WWOOF trip (although whenever I say something is a definite "last" or "never", that always seems to change). Just for fun, here are my overall rankings of the four farms I visited, from favorite to least favorite.

1. Creeping Thyme Forest. (By far the best food; good company; many edifying field trips; so much packed into one week; only one week.)
2. Edale Farm. (Morning walks in the woods; good food; local restaurants; great company.)
3. Possum Tail Farm. (Morning cow chores; fellow beginner herbalist chats; bowling; new friend; games.)
4. Prince Bay Farm. ( ... ??? Not sure what to say about this one. Oh! Except: Charleston. New friend, sort of? Many cats. Good life experience. Great story to tell.)

In my last post I mentioned that I don't want to live in Morgantown (although Pies and Pints is terrific and Terra Cafe has a great chai'nana smoothie; Jennie made a knockoff one for me while I was at the farm, and I plan to recreate her recreation here at home when the weather warms up to proper smoothie-drinking temperatures again). The new plan is to move to Harrisonburg, VA–still in October. I'm more familiar with the city, it has a great bus system so I won't need a car, and I know some folks around that area. I can picture myself there.

Isn't it weird to think that October is only four months away?
